Jeddah Airport to Makkah: How to Get to Your Hotel After Landing

5 October 2026 · 2 min read

Most Umrah journeys begin with the same question: how do I get from Jeddah Airport to my hotel in Makkah, tired from the flight, with luggage and perhaps family? This short guide covers the basics.

How long does it take?

The drive itself is about one hour. Allow extra time for immigration, baggage and meeting your driver — pilgrims often spend two to three hours at the airport after landing, especially in busy seasons.

Your options

  • Private taxi — door to door from the arrivals area to your hotel, with help for luggage and the flexibility of a fixed time and vehicle size.
  • Train or bus — available between the cities, but you still need to reach the station and your hotel at each end.

Book before you travel

  1. Choose your route and number of passengers and bags in the booking form.
  2. Pick a vehicle that fits your group and luggage; every fare is shown before you book.
  3. Enter a phone number you can be reached on after landing — your driver will call to confirm the pickup point.
  4. You pay the driver in cash after the trip; the fare shown is the fare you pay.

Good to know

  • Cancellation is free until 3 hours before pickup.
  • Your driver reaches you about 15 minutes before your chosen pickup time.
  • We do not provide child seats — bring your own if you need one.
